Street Fashion Week hosted their seasonal runway shows held at the Flamboyan theater located in downtown New York City. The place was filled with seasoned designers and as well, newly talented designers all showing their collection during SFW’s event. Since it was my first time attending one of SFW’s events, I was looking forward to see how it would turn out. From the moment you enter the building you were taken on a very cool fashionable and futuristic journey. If you haven’t noticed technology infused with fashion has become the latest trend on the runways.
It was nice to see a refreshed, vibrant and diverse crowd in attendance, which truly held the meaning of Street Fashion. The place darling was packed, with more people trying to get inside to catch the smallest glimmer of the designers latest collections. All understandable when you have the front rows filled with the likes of influencers, stylist, bloggers, Vloggers and artist such as Asian Doll, Sevyn Streeter, Amanda Lepore, Carmen Carrera, Angel + Dren, Munroe Bergdorf, Paris and many more.
A huge round of applause for Naomi and her team at SFW, it was a wonderful experience to be a part of. Some (not all) of these fashion production houses make you feel at times rushed, while SFW makes you feel like you are part of the celebration. The DJ had things kicking off in between collections, and at one point had everyone in the middle of the floor dancing and enjoying life. The mixture of music, smiles and laughter filling the room was an enjoyable moment. I look forward to seeing Naomi and her entire SFW crew again next season!
